Jack Dean Collins, 81, of Clinton, died Sunday, January 28, 2018 at home, surrounded by his family. A celebration of Jack's life will be held from 4 to 6PM, Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory. Per Jack's wishes cremation rites have been accorded.

Jack was born December 31, 1936 in Camanche, Iowa, the son of Gail and Jeanette (Smith) Collins. He was a Unites States Air force veteran. Jack married his high school sweetheart, Janice May Dietrich on May 5, 1957 in Clinton; they celebrated their 60 anniversary this past year. Jan was his loving caregiver throughout his illness.
Jack had been employed at DuPont for many years, retiring in 1986. He was also employed at the Skyline Center and owned and operated Collins Flower Cart with his wife, Jan, for 45 years, retiring in 2014.
Survivors include his wife, Jan; children, Jeff Collins of Topeka, KS; Jody (Don) Thiessen of Long Grove, IA; Julie (Dave Young) Becker of Clinton, IA and Joel (Amanda Grajewski) Collins of Fulton, IL; grandchildren Jason, Daniel, Melissa and David Collins, Ryan Erling, Donovan and Nick Thiessen, Mariah Becker and Jordan Collins, 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Jim (Pat) Collins of LeClaire, IA; sister-in-law, Shirley Holt of Clinton; four nieces and two nephews.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, mother and father-in-law and brother-in-law.
Memorial may be made to the American Heart Association of to Mercy Hospice.
