Harriet Mae Lamb, age 88 of Colfax, went to be home with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 28, 2018, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Colfax. Burial will follow at Colfax Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the church beginning at 9:30 a.m. until service time. Memorials may be directed to the First Baptist Church or the Colfax Senior Center. The daughter of William Edward and Mamie Marie (Lange) Hensen, Harriet was born on December 11, 1929 in Bouton, Iowa. Harriet graduated from Perry High School in 1947. On June 3, 1947, she was united in marriage to Richard Lamb in Kansas City, Missouri. Harriet had a deep love for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She gave her heart to Christ in 1969. Her faith was evident in how she lived her life. Her testimony helped minister to many people. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Colfax. She along with her husband owned and operated Lamb Hardware in Colfax for 22 years before their retirement.
Those left to honor her memory include three children, Richard Craig (Carol) Lamb, Jeffrey William (Susan) Lamb and Sherri Ann (Jeff) Orlich; 12 grandchildren, Geoffrey Lamb, Eric Lamb, Erin Hines, James Lamb, Andrew Lamb, Anthony Lamb, Ryan Lamb, Jennifer Lamb, Brandon Lamb, Megan Danley, Joshua Danley, Chet Miller and a step grandson, Kevan King; 38 great grandchildren; a great great grandchild; two brothers, Louis (Doris) Hensen and Emery Hensen and several nieces and nephews. Preceding Harriet in death were her parents, husband, Richard in 2011, a son, Thomas Allen Lamb, and a brother, Ernest Hensen.
