Dennis Zeedyk
September 29, 1944 - January 28, 2018

Mr. Dennis Lee Zeedyk, age 73, passed away Sunday evening, January 28, 2018, surrounded by family. Denny was born September 29, 1944 in Muskegon to Henry H. and Dorothy Christiana (Sipple) Zeedyk. He served his country in the U.S. Army with a tour of duty in Vietnam. On June 23, 1978, he married the former Barbara Ann Cantrall Justice and she survives him. Denny worked as a machine operator at Johnson Hy-Lift Division for more than 31 years prior to his retirement in 1999. He was a longtime member of U.A.W. #637 where he served as financial secretary. Denny was also a fifty-year member of the Port City Beagle Club. He enjoyed the yearly trips to the cabin for deer hunting. Denny was a huge U of M sports fan and rooted for the Detroit Tigers. Denny's life revolved around the lives of his children and grandchildren. He was always there for his children, coaching them and catching them when the fell. He enjoyed attending all his grandchildren's sporting events and keeping track of their lives on his I Pad. He was an honest man, helpful to all, and more than anything, Denny loved and is survived by Barbara, his wife of 39 years; his children, Morgan (Sheila) Justice, Dana (Robert) Mason, Joseph (Karen) Zeedyk, Jeffery (Deanna) Zeedyk, and Kimberly (Peter) Denhof; 16 grandchildren, Wade, Jessica, Shelby, Breanna, Ryan, Michael, Jordan, Jenna, Jeffery, Aaron, Krista, Amanda, Christopher, Derrick, Bradley, and Samantha; 21 great-grandchildren and one on the way; his brothers, Joseph (Phyllis) Zeedyk, Clifford (Chris) Zeedyk, and Steve (Chris) Zeedyk; a sister, Cindy (Rick) Beachum; and many nieces and nephews. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, February 1, 2018 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100, with Pastor John H. Brown officiating and Full Military Rites under the auspices of the VFW Muskegon County Council. VISITATION will be one hour prior to the service (10-11 AM). Interment in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
