Marta Marie Phipps
March 19, 1960 - January 28, 2018

Marta Marie Phipps, 57, of Boone, died January 28, 2018 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Per her wishes, she has been cremated. There will be no formal services. Marta Marie Phipps, was born in Fraser, Iowa on March 19, 1960, the daughter of Les and Sandra (Parrish) Phipps. She was raised by her maternal grandparents, Gerald and Mildred Parrish. Marta graduated from Boone High School in 1978. She continued her education at DMACC and graduated with her RN in Nursing. She worked in the Boone, Des Moines and Marshalltown hospitals. She was united in marriage to James Udelhoven and to this union, one child was born, Noah. The couple later divorced. She was united in marriage to Dale Howe in July of 2013 in Boone. Marta enjoyed being out in the country, spending time in nature. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. Marta is survived by husband, Dale Howe of Boone; a son, Noah (Sarah) Udelhoven of Madrid; two grandchildren; a brother, Jerald Phipps of Cottonwood, Arizona; a half-sister, Christy; two half-brothers, William of Washington State and George of Minnesota. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
