Colleen Doris Shawver

Colleen Doris Shawver was born September 6, 1929 in Marion County, Iowa the daughter of William and Bessie (Brees) Swayne.
She was raised in Pleasantville and graduated from Pleasantville High School. On July 10, 1948 Colleen was united in marriage to Leland Wayne Shawver in Knoxville. The couple farmed in the Pleasantville area on the Shawver Century Farm. Colleen was a homemaker and a farm wife, additionally she had worked at the 10X factory.
Colleen was a dedicated farm wife, she raised chickens and had a large garden. She canned, was a seamstress and a wonderful cook. Collen and Leland grew and made nearly everything their family needed. Colleen was a faithful person and will be remembered as a dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Colleen passed away Sunday, January 28, 2018, at her daughter, Sherrl's home, at the age of 88 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leland; 9 siblings; son-in-law, Joe Wing and great-grandson, David Downing.
Those left to cherish Colleen's memory include her children: Pamela (Roy) Shives of Bloomington, Minnesota; LeAnn (Jim) Grinstead of DeForest, Wisconsin and Sherrl Wing of Pershing; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren on the way and many other family members and friends.
Colleen Shawver, age 88 of Pershing, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2018. A private funeral service will be held and burial will follow in Pleasantville Cemetery.
