Bill Thrasher
May 30, 1926 - August 11, 2017

Funeral services for Mr. Edward Chalton "Bill" Thrasher, age 91, of the Oakley/Fellowship Community, will be held 3 p.m. Sunday from the Livingston First Baptist Church. Bro. Donald Cobb Bro. Scott Allred will officiate. Burial will be in the Overton County Memorial Gardens, with Military Honors provived at graveside by the Honor Guard of the James T. Davis Memorial Post 5062 of the VFW in Livingston. The family will welcome friends at the church on Saturday evening from 4 until 8 p.m. Sunday from 1 p.m. until time of services. Mr. Thrasher was born in Clay County, TN on May 30, 1926 to the late Carley and May Wright Thrasher. Bill passed from this life on Friday morning, August 11, 2017, at his home. He was a World War II Veteran who served his country in the US Army. He was a member of the Livingston American Legion Post #4, a member of the Livingston First Baptist Church and a retired farmer and livestock dealer. Mr. Thrasher loved his farm work, talking and trading cattle. He enjoyed working hard and was great at the art of helping people who needed help yet not enabling them. Bill was always honest and loved people. Mr. Bill Thrasher is survived by his wife of 67 years, Inez Vaughn Thrasher; his daughter, Dr. Karen Carroll husband Ronnie of Knoxville, TN; son, David Thrasher wife Beverly of Livingston, TN; 7 grandchildren, Gregg Rader, Nick Rader, Nicole Hughes, Daniel Srock, Matt Thrasher, Nate Thrasher Kayla Cope; 6great grandchildren, Jake Hughes, Mia Hughes, Charlie Srock, Finn Srock, Huxley Thrasher Tyson Cope; sister, Grace Harris of the St. John Community of Clay County. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one still born son, Billy Joe Thrasher. Pallbearers to serve will include; David Thrasher, Matt Thrasher, Nate Thrasher, Gregg Rader, Nick Rader, Tim Vaughn. Honarary pallbearers will include Bills granddaughters, Nicole Hughes, Danielle Srock; great grandchildren, Jake Hughes Mia Hughes. Memorial donations may be made to the Livingston First Baptist Church Building Fund.
