Kathy Gail Gilpatrick
September 27, 1960 - August 19, 2017

Kathy Gail Gilpatrick, 56, of Chattanooga, passed away Saturday, August 19, 2017. Miss Gilpatrick was born on September 27, 1960 in Livingston, Tennessee, to Bruce and Anna Evans Gilpatrick. She moved with her family to Chattanooga on her first birthday and remained there until her death.To all who knew her, Kathy Gail was a true gift from God and an angel who brought smiles to all who knew and loved her. The sparkle in her eyes and her contagious grin illuminated the space around her. She began her education at Siskin Child Development Center at age four and continued at the Orange Grove Center at age six where she trained and worked for forty-seven years until her health declined in her early 50's. She was an excellent swimmer and won several ribbons and awards for the backstroke. Blessed with a great sense of humor, her quick wit created a spirit of laughter and happiness for all with whom she came in contact. Kathy Gail loved swimming, dancing, country music, especially Toby Keith, and her extended family. She exemplified a life of love and trust in God. Miss Gilpatrick is survived by her parents, Bruce and Anna Evans Gilpatrick; brothers Terry and Mark Gilpatrick; nieces Breahna Gilpatrick, Raven Gilpatrick Kennedy and husband Eric, and Lindsey Gilpatrick Tinsely; great-niece Ireland Anna Christine Kennedy; great-nephew Tristen Lake Kennedy; special friends Susan Chastain and Holly Castel. Kathy Gail was blessed with blessed with loving caregivers at The Health Center at Standifer Place; special caregivers Markeisha, Sara, and Melissa, who loved her special gifts and personality; and family members Melanie Henricks, Martha Evans Smith, and Linda Sue Gilpatrick. She was preceded in death by Grandparents Carl and Edwina Gilpatrick. and Jim and Effie Evans. beloved first cousin Wayne Evans and special friend John Cooley. Even though she has been called home by her Father, Kathy Gail's spirit will dwell always in the hearts of those who knew her.Memorial Donations can be made to Orange Grove Center, 615 Derby Street, Chattanooga, TN 37404 or a charity of choice.Celebration of life services will be held on Saturday, August 26 at 11:00 a.m., EST, at Tyner Church of Christ, Chattanooga, TN, with Minister John Cupp officiating, and on Sunday, August 27 at 2:00p.m., CST, at Holly Springs Church of Christ, Livingston, TN with Bro. Bruce Mullinix officiating.
