Funeral services for Mrs. Lena Ward Gilpatrick, age 98, of Livingston will be conducted 12 noon on Monday, September 11, 2017 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Bro. Bobby Gore will officiate. Burial will be in the Overton County Memorial Gardens. The family will welcome friends on Sunday evening from 5 until 9 p.m. Mrs. Gilpatrick passed from this life on Friday evening, September 8, 2017 from the Overton County Health Rehab Center. She was born in Overton County on August 28, 1919 to the late Thomas Benton and Amelia Overstreet Ward. She was a graduate of Fisk Academy in Hilham. She was a member of the Livingston Church of Christ. Lena loved her family and being with them. She enjoyed baking, cooking and making wonderful works of art with her needle and thread. Mrs. Lena is survived by her son, Kenny Gilpatrick and wife Carol of Livingston, TN; grandchildren, Charles Michael Gilpatrick and wife Kathy of Baxter, TN and Cindy Gilpatrick Mayberry and husband Donnie of Hilham, TN; great grandchildren, Whitney Mayberry Rich and husband Dustin of Hilham, TN, Morgan Mayberry and wife Kenzie of Livingston, TN and Margaret Johnson of Daytona Beach, FL; great-great grandchildren, Miles Thomas Bullock, Lexi Rae Mayberry, Jace Bryor Savage, and Amelia Layne Rich. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ray Gilpatrick, her sister Lucille Ward Huffines and infant daughter.Pallbearers to serve are Robert England, Lewis Paul Webb, Michael Garrett, Jack Watkins, Morgan Mayberry, Dustin Rich, and Carl Smith.
