Celebration of Life Services for Mr. Ronald Arvis McCormick, age 67, of the Upper Hilham Community will be conducted 3 p.m., Sunday, September 24, 2017 from the Speck Funeral Chapel. The family will welcome friends from 1 p.m. until time of service.
Mr. Ronald McCormick passed from this life on Thursday evening, September 21, 2017 at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center with his family by his side. He was born August 24, 1950 to the late Louis Harvis & Marie Olgetree McCormick. Ronald graduated from Livingston Academy in 1968. He was also a graduate from Tennessee Tech University in 1972 with a B.S. degree in Industrial Technology. He met the love of his life while he was in college, Mrs. Shirley Thrasher and on December 26, 1969 they were married. They were true soul mates.
Ronald loved & was a competitive shooter and was nationally ranked for his marksmanship. He enjoyed UT Football, gardening & yard work. Enjoyed giving his opinion on all subjects. He was a collector of many rare & unique items. He also enjoyed metal working.
He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Faye Thrasher McCormick of Livingston, TN; daughter, Heather McCormick of Madison, TN; son, Addam McCormick & wife Emily of White House, TN; grandsons, Jackson & Tucker McCormick of White House, TN; brothers, Donald McCormick & wife Teresa of Sparta, TN & Keith McCormick & wife Gail of Rickman, TN; Nephews Chance, Lando, & Blake McCormick.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Shirley McCormick & Albert & Lassie Ogletree; & nephew, Brad McCormick.
Memorial donations in memory of Ronald, can be made to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
