Funeral services for Mr. Robert Ray Nevins, age 77, of Livingston will be conducted 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 26, 2017 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Bro. Brooks Boyd will officiate. Burial will be in the Overton County Memorial Gardens. The family will welcome friends on Monday evening from 5 until 8 p.m.
Mr. Nevins passed from this life on Saturday evening, September 23, 2017 from the Overton County Health & Rehab Center. He was born in Clay County on April 3, 1940 to the late Robbie Lee & Mary Butler Nevins. He worked for many years for the Tennessee Department of Transportation. He was a member of the Livingston Church of Christ.
Mr. Nevins loved his family and enjoyed visiting with them. He had a great passion for collecting knives. He also enjoyed digging for ginseng & gardening.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ester Jean Carmack Nevins of Livingston, TN; daughter, Ann Thompson & husband Jerry of Tompkinsville, KY; grandson, Brance Thompson & wife Drema of Alvaton, Ky; great granddaughter, Paisley Dawn Thompson; half-sister, Molly of Lafayette, IN
He was preceded in death by his parents.
