Funeral services for Mr. Jessie D. Greenwood, age 89, of Livingston will be conducted 10 a.m., Saturday, September 30, 2017 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Bro. Bruce Mullinix will officiate. Burial will be in the Vans Branch Cemetery in Pickett County. The family will welcome friends on Friday evening from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Speck Funeral Home.
Mr. Greenwood passed from this life on Wednesday morning, September 27, 2017 from the Overton County Health & Rehab in Livingston. He was born October 11, 1927 in Overton County to the late Daniel & Rene Warden Greenwood. He was a member of the Holly Springs Church of Christ.
Jessie loved his family & enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports. He enjoyed fishing and going to church. Jessie served as a deputy sheriff and a constable for several years in Overton County.
Jessie is survived by his loving & dedicated daughters, Billie Ann Hammock & Thelma Burchett both of Livingston, TN; grandchildren, Kevin Burchett, Missy Winningham, Melanie Staggs & Jeff Hammock; 12 great grandchildren & 9 great-great grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, Ed Vaughn of Livingston, TN.
In addition to his parents, Jessie was preceded in death by his wife, Manda Vaughn Greenwood; great-great grandson, Morgan Shepherd; brothers, Charlie, Ebb & Elmer Greenwood; sisters, Della Ledbetter & Tealie Sevier; son-in-laws, Carmen B. Hammock & Billy Burchett & granddaughter-in-law, Glenda Burchett.
Pallbearers to serve are Michael Burchett, Kyler Winningham, Dylan Winningham, Donnie Staggs, Travis Staggs, Cade Hammock, Cole Hammock & Clay Winningham.
Honorary Pallbearer will be Donald Staggs & Ed Vaughn.
