Celebration of Life Services for Mr. J.L. "James" Layman, age 81, of the Willow Grove Community will be conducted 1 p.m., Saturday, September 30, 2017 at his residence at 148 Possum Ridge Lane, Allons, Tenn. 38541. Bro. Joe Cox will officiate. The family will welcome friends at the time of services.
Mr. Layman passed from this life on Tuesday evening, September 26, 2017 at his home. He was born in Sevier County, Tennessee, on March 16, 1936 to the late Hubert & Cena Elizabeth Byrd Layman. James worked for 30 years for the General Motors Company in Marion Indiana. He was a member of the Martins Chapel Church and a member of the Eagles Lodge #227 in Marion IN. James loved to rabbit & squirrel hunt. He collected guns and knives. His passion was working & showing horses. He loved his family very much and enjoyed being with his morning Hardee's breakfast club.
He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Mrs. Tammara Ellen Faulk Layman of the Willow Grove Community; sons, Larry Layman & wife, Patricia of Marion IN, Timothy Layman of Florida & Bill Jones of Marion, IN; daughter, Jennifer Layman Moon & husband Fred of Fairmount, IN; 5 grandsons & 5 granddaughters; 9 great grandchildren; sisters, Wilma Jackson, Ruby Haynes & husband George & Joyce Ann Wilkerson & husband Jack.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, James Allen Layman; sisters, Velda & Ina Layman; brothers, Clifford, Leo & Leroy Layman.
