Milfred Delonie Winningham
March 19, 1930 - October 9, 2017

Funeral services for Mr. Milfred Delonie Winningham, age 87, of Monroe will be conducted 2 p.m., Thursday, October 12, 2017 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home in Livingston. Bro. Steven Barlow and Dr. Kenneth Beaty will officiate. Burial will be in the Hatcher Hall Cemetery with Military Honors provided at graveside by the Honor Guard of the James T. Davis Memorial Post 5062 of the VFW in Livingston. The family will welcome friends on Wednesday evening from 5 until 9 p.m. with a Masonic Service Eastern Star Service at 7 p.m. Mr. Winningham passed from this life on Monday evening, October 9, 2017 at Livingston Regional Hospital surrounded by his loving wife and family. He was born in Pickett County to the late Elijah Turner Winningham Jewel Ester Hicks Winningham. He was a 1959 graduate of Livingston Academy. He served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Monroe Christian Church. Milfred met the love of his life, Ms. Gerlene Stover at one of the American Legion Hall Dances in 1955, and they were married soon after on July 1, 1955. Milfred loved to raise a garden and enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting. He enjoyed going to bluegrass singing square dances. He loved his family very much and enjoyed spending time with them. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mrs. Gerlene Stover Winningham of Monroe, TN; daughters, Helen Alsip and husband William and Linda Bilbrey and husband Billy; granddaughters, Amie Travis husband Matt of Woodbury, TN Megan Benton husband Kevin of Algood, TN; great grandchildren, Justin Briar Travis, Ivy Grace Travis, Marshall Tucker Travis; brother-in-law, Jerry C. Stover wife Charlette of Byrdstown, TN; special nephews niece, John Garrett Tony Stover Kristie Pittman. several nieces, nephews cousins also survive. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Delbert Delphis Winningham; half brother, Castle Jay Winningham sister, Delma Ray Garrett. Memorial Donations in memory of Milfred may be made to the Eagle Creek Lodge #530 by contacting Speck Funeral Home.Pallbearers to serve are Matt Travis, Briar Travis, Tucker Travis, Tony Stover, John Lee Garrett, Elijah Garrett Kevin Denton.
