Funeral services for Mr. S.D. Pennington age 86, of Allons will be held 12 noon, Wednesday, April 13, 2016 from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home. Bro. Sam Gamble, Bro. Jerry Buck & Bro. Grant Pennington will officiate. Burial will be in the Overton County Memorial Gardens, with Military Honors provided at graveside by the James T. Davis Memorial Post 5062 of the VFW in Livingston. The family will welcome friends on Tuesday evening from 5 until 9 p.m. at the Livingston Funeral Home.
Mr. Pennington passed from this life on Monday morning, April 11, 2016 at the Livingston Regional Hospital. He was born in Overton County on February 11, 1930 to the late Samuel David & Della Brown Pennington. He worked for many years as a Fabricator at the Pennington Muffler Shop. He was Baptist in Faith. S.D. loved hunting & fishing, he enjoyed mowing yards. He loved all types of sports and enjoyed playing the guitar and singing every chance he could. His favorite past-time was with his grandchildren & great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Davidson Pennington of Allons; son, Grant Pennington & wife Carol of Livingston; daughter, Cheryl Pennington White & husband Rick of Livingston; 6 grandchildren, Troy Pennington & wife Lacy, Brittany Sells & husband Daniel, Tiffany Shelton & husband Nick, Morgan White, Megan White & Hunter White. & 6 great grandchildren, Ben Shelton, Nolen Pennington, Walker & Grayson Sells & Reilyn & Emerson; sister, Minnie Mae Buck of Livingston.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Marvin Pennington, Wilburn Pennington, Kelly "Buster" Pennington & James Pennington; sisters, Maurane Upton, Willette Johnson, Sylvia Davis, Wilma Collins & Christene Lee.
Pallbearers to serve are Hunter White, Troy Pennington, Rick White, Nick Shelton, Joel Chapel Jr., Grant Livingston & Daniel Sells.
