Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Mae Gore Pennington, age 87, of Livingston will be conducted 2 p.m., Friday, August 11, 2017 from the chapel of the Livingston Funeral Home. Bro. Mike Womack will officiate. Burial will be in the Miller Cemetery. The family will welcome friends on Thursday evening from 5 until 9 p.m. & on Friday from 10 a.m. until time of services at 2 p.m.
Mrs Pennington passed from this life on Wednesday morning, August 9, 2017 at the Overton County Health & Rehab with her loving family at her side. She was born April 2, 1930 in Overton County to the late Harv & Ollie Watkins Gore & step-mother Georgie Gore.
Margaret was retired from the Livingston Shirt Factory & Tubular. She also had her hand in many children's lives babysiting. She was a member at Allons Baptist Church but attended Life Church in Cookeville.
Margaret "Granny" loved her family to the fullest. She loved her nieces and nephews and their children like her own. She was everyones Granny. Her home and heart was always open for vistors & No One ever left her home hungry. All the kids at the daycare throughout the years held a special place in her heart. Granny loved the Lord and showed it through her life.
Margaret was married to her best friend Kelly "Buster" Pennington on April 22, 1947.
Mrs. Pennington is survived by her loving daughter, Mary Joyce Lamb & husband Scott; grandchildren, John Rob Schoettle, Denise Dillon & husband Mark, Jennifer Shaw & husband Zack; great grandchildren, Michael Greenwood, Jada Greenwood, Brandon Dillon, Ashland Dillon, Karley Schoettle, Kennedy Schoettle, Landon Shaw & Lily Shaw; a special great great grandson, Colt Greenwood.
She is also survived by her brothers, Harold Gore, Howard Gore, Brent Gore, Bruce Gore & Bob Gore; sisters, Helen Fletcher & Junie Richardson.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Kelly "Buster" Pennington; brothers, Gorden Gore, Gurstel Gore, Balis Gore & Beck Gore: sisters, Mozell Pennington, Melba Savage, Lorene Lawson & Olene Ledbetter.
Pallbearers to serve are Michael Greenwood, Dylan Stacy, TJ Copeland, Landon Shaw, Tony Brewer, David Brewer, Mike Brewer & Brandon Dillon.
Honorary Pallbearers are Colt Greenwood, Andy Taylor, Jerry Burton, Zack Shaw & Mark Dillon.
