Funeral services for Mrs. Alma Florene Dennis Beason Dixon, age 102, of the Okolona Community will be conducted at 2 p.m., Thursday, April 14, 2016 at the Livingston Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Bob Stoner will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Johns Cemetery in Clay County. The family will welcome friends on Wednesday evening, April 13, 2016 from 5 until 9 p.m. at the Livingston Funeral Home.
Mrs. Alma Florene Dixon passed from this life on Tuesday evening at the Overton County Health & Rehab Center where she had spent the last 20 years of her life. She was born in Clay County on February 23, 1914 to the late Alford Fredrick & Ova Lee Patterson Dennis. She was a retired garment factory worker and housewife. She attended the Highland Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing word searches & crossword puzzles. She made wonderful works of art by quilting. Her favorite thing to do in her later years was playing Bingo with her friends of the Overton County Health & Rehab.
She is survived by her daughter, Alma Fletcher of Allons; son, Billy Beason Jr., & special friend Mrs. Mary Gray of Livingston; grandchildren, June Fletcher Schiewe, Terry Fletcher, Randy Fletcher, Ricky Fletcher, Devenna Fletcher & Leda Johnson; 19 great-grandchildren & 15 great-great-grandchildren. several neices & nephews and friends also survive.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her two husbands, Willie Bill Beason Sr. & Lonzo Dixon; grandchildren, Michael Kent Fletcher & Timmerri Tillman; son-in-law, Norman Fletcher; step children, Jessie Dixon & Julie Hargis; brothers, Clure, Fred, Robert & Hollis Dennis; sisters, Sala Roe & Belle Pierce.
Pallbearers to serve are Ronnie Hummel, R.D. Hummel, Willie Roy Sidwell, Ricky Fletcher & David Johnson.
