Mr. Gradie Porter Matthews "Red" age 81 of Livingston passed away Friday June 5, 2015 at his residence. He was born Nov. 1, 1933 in Overton Co.,Tennessee to Owen R. Matthews and Mary (Cox) Matthews. Gradie was a member of the Christian Community Church, a Veteran serving in the Army National Guard, Member of the Livingston Masonic Lodge # 259, Eastern Star # 206, Shriner, Hillbilles, Scottish Rites, Mentor Demolay's of the Livingston Chapter and also a member of the Livingston Lions Club. Gradie is survived by: (2) Daughters: Pennie Ann Matthews and Callie Marie Mullinax (Bradley); (1) Son: Gradie Junior Matthews; (1) Sister: Frances Cobble; Also survived by nieces, nephews, other family members and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his Parents: Owen and Mary Matthews; Wife: Callie Evelean (Hammock) Matthews; (1) Brother: Lenard R. Matthews. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday June 9, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. from the Livingston Funeral Home with burial in the Okolona Cemetery. The family of Mr. Gradie Matthews will receive friends on Monday June 8, 2015 from 11:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. Everyone is welcome to the Easter Star Service Monday evening at 6:00 P.M. and the Masonic Service at 7:00 P.M. at the Livingston Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital or the Livingston Lions Club
