Funeral services for Mary Emma Allen, age 87, of the Greenbrier Community will be conducted at 4 p.m. Thursday, September 22, 2016 from the Allen Chapel Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. Jason Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in Allen Chapel Cemetery. The family will welcome friends on Wednesday evening from 5 until 9 p.m. at Livingston Funeral Home where there will be an Eastern Star Service at 7 p.m. and on Thursday from 12 noon until service time at the church.

Mrs. Allen passed from this life on Tuesday morning, September 20, 2016 at Livingston Regional Hospital with her loving family at her side. She was born May 3, 1929 in Overton County to the late Jim & Ella Carr. She was a member of the Allen Chapel Freewill Baptist Church and a member of Livingston Order of the Eastern Star #206. She loved spending time with her family and friends, loved quilting & sewing, and attending church.

Mrs. Allen is survived by daughters, Carolyn Hargis & husband, Paul of Rickman and Kimberly Thrasher of Hilham; sons, Bruce Allen & wife, Debbie of Hardys Chapel, Richard Allen of Hilham, Kenny Allen & wife, Denise of Melvindale, MI, and Gary Allen & wife, Robin of Hilham; a sister, Frances Boles of Canton, MI; 11 grandchildren & 14 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband: Hilmon Allen, grandson: Clinton Paul Hargis, brothers: Milton and Herman Carr, and sisters: Fannie Reasoner, Villa Carr, Ova D. Boyce, and Maudie Allen.
