Albert B. "Gabe" Sells
August 9, 1931 - June 18, 2017

Funeral services for Mr. Albert B. "Gabe" Sells, age 85, of Livingston will be conducted 11am, Wednesday, June 21, 2017, from the Livingston Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Craig Green will officiate. Burial will be in the Copeland Cemetery. The family will welcome friends on Tuesday evening from 5 until 9 p.m.

Mr. Sells passed from this life on Sunday morning, June 18, 2017 from the Livingston Regional Hospital. He was born in Overton County on August 9, 1931 to the late Archie & Edna Carmack Sells. Gabe worked for many years for the Tennessee Department of Transportation as a Transportation Technician.

Gabe loved his family and spending time with them. He loved cars, dancing, working and being with his friends. Talking and drinking coffee at the round table at Waynes Grill. A familiar car number 00, was known to many people around Livingston & Overton County as Gabe Sells. He was one the most popular race drivers in the circuit. He took fifteen trophies and numerous other awards following wins on the Overton County Speedway in Hilham, Putnam County Speedway in Cookeville, Wayne County Speedway in Monticello, KY and the Clinton County Speedway in Albany, KY. Car 00 was a 1932 Model Ford and was built by the mechanics at the Livingston Motor Company. He also was voted Driver of the year during the 1962 season. Gabe also drove the car number 54 to a successful record winning the first car dash at the Overton County Speedway.

Gabe is survived by his sons, David A. Sells & wife Cindy of Livingston, TN & Michael Sells of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Mallory Richardson, Christie Jenkins, Cynthia Simpson, Adam Bailey & Kristen Bailey Harris; great grandchildren, Jessica Simpson Sims, Chloe Jenkins, Brody Richardson, Sophia Richardson, Kiley Bailey, Quinnleigh Bailey & Ryder Harris; sister, Imogene Franklin of Livingston, Tn.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Ann Copeland Sells; & son, Mark Hampton Sells.

Pallbearers to serve are Richard Winton, Bobby Almondrode, Darrell King, Kelly Hill, Ted Poston, Gruder Carmack.

Honorary Pallbearers are Coffee drinking Buddies "aka" Loafers and TDOT friends.
