Graveside services for Mr. Gordon "Junior" Helton, age 70, of Crossville will be conducted 1 p.m., Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at the Sand Springs Cemetery. Bro. Tim Harris will officiate. The family will welcome friends at the time of service.
Junior passed from this life on Sunday evening, August 20, 2017 at Vanderbilt Medical Center. He was born in McEwen in Humphreys County Tennessee on February 1, 1947 to the late Gordon Helton Sr. & Ruby Keith Helton. He was the owner/operator of Young Monument Company for many years. He personally sculpted and made thousands of monuments during his career. JR enjoyed collecting and trading guns & knives and playing his guitar.
He was survived by his wife, Tammy Doney Helton of Crossville, TN; son, Nathaniel Walker of Crossville, TN; daughters, Melissa Ealey of Cookeville, TN & Kayse Walker of Crossville, TN; brothers, Dennis Helton & wife Sherry of Rickman, TN, Bobby Helton of Cookeville, TN & Donald "Duck" Helton of Algood, TN; sister, Rose Mary Sparks of Cookeville, TN; & 4 grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Larry & John Henry Helton; sister, Rita Allen.
