Floyd Earl Stout, 89, of Ft. Madison passed away at 4:18 AM on Thursday, February 01, 2018 at the West Point Care Center.
He was born on March 19, 1928 in Mt. Union, IA to Earl and Clara Broeker Stout. When Floyd was nine his father passed away and his mom then married Leo Olague who raised him as his own. Floyd and Betty (Wilkens) had just celebrated their 70th Anniversary; they were married on January 16, 1948 in Nauvoo. Floyd worked for the Santa Fe Railroad and retired after forty five years of service. He was a member of Holy Family Parish. Floyd had a passion for woodworking and loved making pieces for his family. He loved playing cutthroat and made numerous cutthroat boards for his family. He enjoyed working on cars and he could fix almost anything. Floyd went to McDonald's every morning and had his coffee with his buddies.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth "Betty" Stout of Ft. Madison; three sons, Bill (Martha) Stout of Ft. Madison, Ron (Christine Haunschild) Stout of Blue Springs, MO and Dan (Nancy) Stout of Keller, TX; one daughter, Peggy Zumdome Delgado of Ft. Madison; eleven grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; step father; a daughter in law, Gloria Stout and a son in law, Ray Delgado.
Friends may call after 2 PM on Monday, February 5, 2018 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory where the family will meet with friends from 5-7 PM. The funeral mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Mark P. Spring officiating. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
