Dorothy Jean Pomeroy, 92 of Winona, died Thursday, February 1, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family.
Dorothy was born November 23, 1925 in Winona to Ralph and Lydia (Wanek) Peterson. She attended Winona Public Schools and graduated in 1944. In 1946, she married Lawrence "Bud" Pomeroy at the Church of the Nazarene. They had 6 children. Dorothy and Lawrence owned and operated Pomeroy Market.
Dorothy was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, making dolls, puzzles, gardening, bird watching, camping, boating and was a member of the Winona Valley Riders Saddle Club.
She is survived by her husband, Lawrence of 72 years; six children, Larry (Lynda) Pomeroy, Rick Pomeroy, Bill Pomeroy, Sandy (Lester) Jonsgaard, Cindy (Dale) Stevens and Laurie (Joe) Pronschinske; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruth (Pedro) Chavez and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Albert and Raymond and one sister, Alice Volkman.
Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Hoff Celebration of Life Center - Goodview. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m., Monday and one hour prior to the service, all at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at St. Mary's Cemetery in Winona.
