Margaret L McPherson

Margaret L. McPherson, 77, of Sioux City, IA passed away at her residence on Wednesday, January 31, 2018.

Visitation with the family present will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, February 9, 2018 at Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE.

Margaret was born on March 6, 1940 in Sioux City, IA, the daughter of John and Dorothy (Kenny) Hicks. She graduated from Sergeant Bluff High School in 1958. She married Loy McPherson in Sioux City, IA. Margaret graduated from WITCC and worked as a legal secretary for many years before receiving her CDL certification from WITCC. Loy and Margaret owned and operated a trucking company and drove trucks together from 1980 to 1990. She then worked as a Woodbury County Court Attendant until her retirement in 2010. She purchased a bicycle at the age of 72 so she could ride bikes with her first great-grandson. She also made hundreds of comfort care blankets for St. Luke's Hospital.

Margaret enjoyed spending time with her children, granddaughter and great-grandsons, quilting and gardening.

Survivors include her children, Colleen (Tim) Boeckenhauer of Hubbard, NE, Jeff (Peggy) McPherson of Sioux City, IA; granddaughter, Katie (Sean) Murphy; 3 great-grandsons, Brody, Kohan and Konrad Murphy; and 2 brothers, Ernie Hicks of Sergeant Bluff, IA and Larry (Donna) Hicks of Crystal Lake, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Dorothy Hicks; her husband, Loy McPherson in 2010; sisters, Donna VanBriesen and Linda Flammang; and a brother, Terry Hicks.
