John Robert Clark
September 8, 1947 - January 29, 2018

John "JR, Bob" Robert Clark, Jr, 70 of Punta Gorda, FL passed away Monday January 29 in Port Charlotte. He was born September 8, 1947 in Lowell, Massachusetts. John spent many happy years designing packaging, for which he won national awards. He retired from Osram Sylvania, Danvers, Massachusetts, in 2010.
Since his retirement to Florida, he's been very involved in clubs associated with the Punta Gorda Isles Civic Association and St Andrews South Golf Club. Besides golfing and boating, he enjoyed traveling with his wife.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Gayle J Harper Clark, his children, David Clark of Brooklyn, NY and Amy (Sam) Goodemoot, along with grandchildren Jaina and Ty of Helena, MT. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his siblings, Patricia Kovac of Portland, Oregon and Cindy (Jim) Hunter of Longwood, FL. His brothers-in-law, Ed Legare and family of Bronson, FL and Mark Taylor and family of Gainesville, FL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Elsie Clark and sisters Linda Legare and Maryann Taylor.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00pm Sunday February 25, 2018 at the St Andrews South Golf Club, 1901 Deborah Drive, Punta Gorda, FL 33950. It was John's request that those attending to wear bright colors to the service. Donations can be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society.
