In loving memory of

Charles E. Kline
November 5, 1938 - February 3, 2018

Charles "Chuck" Kline, 79, went to his heavenly home on February 3, 2018 at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona.

Chuck was born Nov. 5, 1938 in Afton, Iowa to Homer and Eula (Clem) Kline. He married Shirley (Peter) Kline in 1962 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Burt, Iowa. They made their home in Algona. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Shirley; children, Cindy (Bill) Olson of West Des Moines; grandchildren Isaac and Riley; Randy (Laura) Kline of Hampton; grandchildren, Derrick (Saili) and their child Diego, Nathan (Rebecca) and their children Natalie Kline, Noah, Abigail and Rebekah Baker, Connor (Chandra) and their children Brylee and Kinzley, Taryn Kline and Dylan Reents. His brother John (Mary) Kline, Shirley's brother Duane (Linda) Peter and sister Velda Harms and many nieces and nephews also survive.

Chuck worked for Everds Brothers blacktop services, Dau's Garage parts department and as purchasing agent for 30 years at Algona Food Equipment Co (AFECO). Chuck was a charter member of the Morwens Kiwanis Club for 46 years, installing many flag poles and helping with other projects. In years past, he enjoyed hiking, walking, riding motorcycle and helping on various farms. He especially enjoyed watching all sporting events like golf for Cindy and wrestling for Randy. He and Shirley loved to follow all of the grandkid's events, making homemade ice cream and just being together with family and friends. He retired at age 62 and used his love of driving to deliver cars for Kemna's, sub as a bus driver for Algona Schools and transport veterans and others to their appointments. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he and Shirley were very involved and served as Financial Secretary for 40 years. If his pocket calendar showed that he was free, he would always help on any request from anyone!

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Shirley's parents, Rudy and Ida (Tietz) Peter; sister in law Connie Kline, and brother in law Johnny Harms. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
