Gladys Irene Schnetzer was born December 13, 1917 in Corwith, Iowa daughter of Charles George and Adeline Gertrude (Leightner) Hamm. She always said she was her Dad's hired hand on the family farm. Gladys grew up in Corwith and graduated from Corwith High School.
Gladys was united in marriage to Arthur B. Kraft on March 31, 1936. Together they had 5 children. Arthur preceded her in death on December 25, 1977. Gladys worked as a waitress and cook in various restaurants in Renwick and was known for her homemade "Gertie Fries."
On August 9, 1980 Gladys was united in marriage to Elmer Joseph Schnetzer. They made their home in Renwick until August, 2008 when they moved to Springvale Senior Living in Humboldt. In December 2014, Gladys moved to Rotary Senior Living in Eagle Grove. Gladys enjoyed golfing, cooking, crocheting, sewing, but most of all she loved spending time with her family. She was a member of the Renwick St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Gladys (Kraft) Schnetzer passed away Saturday, February 3, 2018 at the Rotary Senior Living in Eagle Grove at the age of 100.
Gladys is survived by her children, Larry Kraft and his wife Linda of Brevard, North Carolina, Sharon Musgrove and her husband Jerry of Columbus City, Iowa, Jerilyn Clowes of Renwick, and Jan Thompson and her husband Rick of Renwick; step-children James Schnetzer and his wife Laraine of Garden City, Utah, and Colleen Teigland and her husband Herbert of Fort Dodge; 13 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Arthur; second husband, Elmer; daughter, Judy; parents; grandsons, Shawn Richard Thompson and Kenneth Gregory; granddaughter, Kelley Schnetzer, and brother, Elmer Hamm.
