Howard D. Dencklau, 57, of Fort Dodge passed away Saturday, February 3, 2018 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with Pastor Allen Redenius officiating. Burial will follow at Colfax Township Cemetery. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy; children, Timothy (Amanda) Briggs of Colorado Springs, CO; Jeffery (Sonya) Briggs of Hickory, NC; Jessica (Hadley) Libbey of Iowa City; Abigail (Benjamin) Platt of Glidden; five grandchildren, Anissa, Olivia, Jaxsyn, Aria, and Wyatt; father, Dale Dencklau; sisters, Barbara Young (Calvin) of Webster City; Karen Knutson (Larry) of Beldenville, WI; and Laurie Nelson (Brian) of Thor; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Juli Dencklau.
Howard Dencklau was born February 7, 1960 in Fort Dodge. He attended schools here and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School. On July 30, 1988, he married Kathy Wooten in Vincent and the couple made their home in Fort Dodge. Howard owned and operated Wooten Radiator Service and farmed in the area. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and St. John's Lutheran Church. He loved working for the Child City of Mooseheart. He enjoyed farming, collecting toy tractors, restoring tractors, going on poker runs, and giving tractor rides to his grandchildren. He loved traveling, especially to St. Maarten.
