MUSCATINE, Iowa - Betty D. Jameson, 88, of Muscatine, passed away on Monday, February 5, 2018, at Lutheran Living.
Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, February 9, 2018, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. The Reverend Don Combs will officiate. Burial will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2018, from 4 until 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
Betty was born on December 12, 1929, in Nichols, the daughter of Raymond and Cynthia Hooten Brenneman. Betty spent her childhood on the farm before marrying Russell L. Jameson on December 16, 1950 in Muscatine.
She was a horseback riding instructor for over 40 years. She enjoyed boarding horses and being outside with her dogs.
Those left to honor her memory include two daughters, Judy Raymond, of Muscatine, and Vickie Haddick and husband, Mark, of Coal Valley, Illinois; three grandchildren, Michael Raymond, Scott and Kyle Haddick; one great granddaughter, Kyleigh; and one sister, Darlene Cornwell, of Seattle, Washington.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two brothers, Virgil and Donald Brenneman.

"Vickie, Judy, and Family. Betty was a kind, caring and amazing lady who will be missed by all. I have great memories of growing up across the street from your family. Betty was a wonderful friend to my mom and helped mom get through many tough times after dad passed away. She was a true friend!! I really enjoyed reconnecting and visiting with Betty at Lutheran Living when in Muscatine to visit mom. One time we were sitting together, Betty, my mom Norma, and me and I asked Betty if she remembered going to the gravel pit years ago and she and mom would sun bathe while us kids splashed around in the water. Betty smiled and replied, "Yes, I remember." Then she grabbed mom's hand and said, "and we are going sun bathing again some day." That is probably my favorite recent memory of Betty. She talked a little about Russell different times and I knew she missed him greatly. And Betty always talked about her girls. Below is my favorite saying and I hope these words will give you comfort at this time of your loss: WHEN SOMEONE YOU LOVE BECOMES A MEMORY, THE MEMORY BECOMES A TREASURE!" Hang on to your memories.
