Clarence Oren Kelbaugh
October 15, 1936 - February 4, 2018

Clarence Oren Kelbaugh 81 of Port Charlotte, Fl. Passed away at home Feb. 4th, 2018; after a long illness. He was born October 15, 1936 in Parkersburg, Wood County, West Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his parents Cecil Otto and Olga Ireta (Shutts) Kelbaugh , his brothers Thurman Marshall and Lloyd Ray Kelbaugh both of West Virginia. Two wives Nesta Kay (Hitt) and Veronica (Santos) Kelbaugh. Also his son Curtis Owen Kelbaugh of Charleston WV.
He is survived by one brother Hershel Eugene (Sharon) Kelbaugh of Parkersburg, WV. His daughter Shirley Irita (Doug) Harris of Port Charlotte, Fl. Stepdaughter Wendy Veronica Pazos of Ga. He has Five grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
Clarence entered the US Navy when he was 17 and spent 21yrs in it touring the world. He served During the Korean war, he participated in the Bay of Pigs in Cuba, The Vietnam war, peace time. He Was instrumental in the building of the USS John F Kennedy aircraft carrier, he was on the maiden voyage and served on it. He crossed both Artic Circles and the Equator. He was very proud of his Time in the military. There are only a few words to describe him. "Never a dull moment."
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home 2405 Harbor Blvd. Port Charlotte, Florida
