Shawn Cook, 14 months, passed away on February 4, 2018 at Sanford Health System in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, February 9, 2018 at the Rexwinkel Funeral Home of Le Mars. Burial will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens in rural Le Mars. Visitation with the family present will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 8, 2018 at the funeral home.  Expressions of sympathy may be expressed to the family through www.rexwinkelfh.com.Shawn Brian Cook was born on December 4, 2016 in Orange City, Iowa, to Jason and Lauren (Kaiser) Cook.  Shawn was the happiest, strongest, and most wonderful son. He was so easy going, always with a smile on his face. Everyone who met him was able to fall in love with his charming personality. He loved all animals, especially his cat, Pancakes. He loved playing with his toy cars.  His favorite foods were bananas and peanut butter crackers.  He also loved going to his daycare to see his friends and his amazing daycare provider, Kendra Cakebread.Shawn is survived by his parents, Jason and Lauren Cook; uncles: Alex Cook of Vermillion, SD, Lucas Kaiser of Cedar Falls, IA, and Garret Kaiser of Licking, MO; grandparents: Gary Cook of Le Mars, Mollie Cook of Le Mars and friend, Joe Mutschelknaus of Yankton, SD, and Brian and Brenda Kaiser of Licking, MO; great grandparents: Dale Cook and friend, Glenda Haverhals, of Le Mars, Allen and Char Jarman of Peever, SD, Marge and Gordon Sundberg of Eagle Grove, IA, George and Nancy Kaiser of Waverly, IA, and Prentice Bass of San Leandro, CA ; and numerous great aunts, uncles, and extended relatives.Shawn is preceded in death by his great grandmother, Marilyn Cook.
