"Dr. Johnson and I frequently talked and I always enjoyed seeing him and listening to his words of wisdom. He and I laughed at some some things and I'm honored to know him and be his friend. Such a caring, thoughtful, giving and distinguished person. I will miss seeing him and our conversations. We both agreed how temporary this life really is and I'm so happy that he was a Christian and I'll get to see him again. Blessings to his memory and to the family."

"I was so saddened to receive the letter regarding the loss of Dr. Johnson. I have been a patient for about 12 years. Dr. Johnson took very good care of me and he was always so kind. I loved hearing about his diving trips and loved talking about the Lord with him. I could tell how much he truly loved working with the kids at his church. My husband and I are in ministry and he would always want to know how things were going for us as well. He was always an encouragement to me. I will truly miss seeing him and will keep his family in my prayers."

"I opened my mail last evening wondering why I would receive a letter from OB/GYN Associates. I was in disbelief when I read what had happened. I was shocked and heart broken to say the least. Dr J delivered our now 18 year old. He has been my doctor for 20 plus years! He has been my friend as well as my doctor. I had some scary testing in December. He called me personally to tell me the news was good! That was the kind of man he was. He said he did not want me to worry any longer and wanted to ease my mind until my appointment to discuss my options. My husband went with me to discuss the test results the end of December. There are no words to tell the family how very sorry we are. You will remain in our thoughts and prayers in the days and months ahead. Had we known we would have attended the services. That is how much Dr J impacted my life as well as my husband. We have an older son, Tyler, with special needs He is non verbal and cannot walk. We were very scared during my pregnancy. Dr J eased my mind the entire time. He allowed my husband to do the actual delivery. He was amazing through a scary yet wonderful time in our lives. We would discuss our faith and it meant so much to me to have a Christian doctor. He has always been a blessing to my family. I would always show him a pic every year of Christian, our 18 year old that he brought into this world. I hope to meet his family one day I will send a card ASAP. Love and blessings to all of you. You will remain in my prayers. He will be greatly missed ....."

"I received a letter today from Obstetrics and Gynecology sharing the recent loss of Dr. Johnson. I'm shocked and very saddened. Dr. Johnson delivered all four of my sons (the first in 1999; the last in 2006). In fact, he allowed my husband to "catch" the last three of them! He and I would have wonderfully deep theological discussions. I actually just had my last annual appointment in January (only 13 days before his death) and he and I picked up right where we left off! He was an amazing man, encourager, and doctor. My deepest condolences to the family. He spoke highly of his wife and children. Praise God that he is sitting at the feet of our Savior, Jesus Christ. "

"Today I spoke with Ashley and she told me of Dr. Johnson's passing. Shocked and upset, yet know this kind, compassionate, caring man with a bedside manner that is unmatched will be seen in Heaven by me, again. Now a days where patients can be herded in and out he always took the time to listen to even the most off conversation other than the reason for your visit. I loved Dr. Johnson like a brother we shared some funny things during my visit. I will miss you, but never forget you. Your family all knows how special you were. RIP, My sincere condolences. "Uncle Larry was an amazing person and amazing dr. I have so many memories but ill never forget when my daughter was born. He found out from the family that i had gone into labor early while he was on vacation. He came to my room first thing the next morning to see how we were doing and even asked why i hadnt called him.... when i said because he was on vacation he told me he still would have come and delivered her! He delivered my first and last son as well. He made some very rough situations very easy to deal with. I will also never forget being at family gatherings and staring at Larry and Gary convincing myself that i could tell who was who!!! He will be missed very deeply and always loved"

"I knew Larry from the time he was a Resident at Bethesda and I was an L&D Nurse there. I had the great pleasure of working alongside him for quite a few years at Bethesda and then at Mercy Fairfield. I needed a couple more deliveries to complete my Midwifery training and he graciously and patiently mentored me through my last one before I graduated. I will never forget his patient and calm demeanor both with staff and his patients. He always had a smile for everyone and his passion for serving women and their families was clearly evident. He was a gift to all of us who were blessed to work beside him. Gone way too soon, Heaven has gained a very unique and special man. May God be by your side as you navigate life here without him??"

"I'm so sorry for your loss. Dr. Johnson delivered my first child 16 years ago, on a day he had been fixing his mother's car. I knew this because he had scratched his cornea with a wrench! And he came to me first to deliver the baby, with his eye patched up, instead of going to take care of his injury. He knew a first time mother would be nervous and upset to not have her trusted doctor there so he made sure he was. My whole family still brags about our incredible care from the guy that caught my girl with one eye closed! Thank you for sharing your husband, father, grandfather with moms like me that needed him. I was blessed to be his patient. Prayers are with you all as you get through the coming days and weeks. Dr. Johnson, you will be so very missed on this earth. Your spirit remains in the many lives you have touched and made better. "
