Jane R. Merrill
June 1, 1919 - February 3, 2018

Jane R. Merrill, 98, of Carmel, Indiana, formerly of Indianapolis, died at home on February 3, 2018 surrounded by her family. She was born in Indianapolis on June 1, 1919 to Chester L. and Bessie (Deupree) Robinson.

Jane graduated from Shortridge High School in 1936 and in 1940 graduated from Butler University. She was an educator and an entrepreneur along with her late husband, William H. Merrill, Sr.

Jane loved her family and was proud of every one of them as she encouraged them to "always do your best." She was also a proud member of the Final 4.

Jane is survived by her children: William H. Merrill, Jr. (Jane), Cynthia Cox (Owen), Elizabeth Clymer (Gregg), Katherine Staley (Collin deceased); 10 grandchildren and 20 great grand children; her sisters Mary Ferguson and Betsy North, and brother Chester Robinson. She was preceded in death by her husband William H. Merrill, Sr. her brothers; John Robinson, Clyde E. Robinson and Roy Robinson and her son-in-law, Collin M. Staley.

Private services will be held at a future date. Jane requested that in her memory you take a friend to lunch and remember to always be kind to one another.
