James L. Lombardi, 82, Muncie, passed away Tuesday evening, February 6, 2018, at The Woodlands.
He was born Friday, November 15, 1935, in Owosso, Michigan, the son of Harold James and Eleanor Alice (Quirk) Lombardi. James graduated from Owosso High School in 1954. After high school James served his country in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. He began his career with Franklin Finance in 1959, was Vice President of Operations at Mutual Federal for sixteen years and retired in 2000. After retiring, he again worked at Stoops until 2015. James had a favorite saying, "Family Is Everything", and he loved spending time with his grandsons and family and traveling with his brothers. James was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing. He enjoyed collecting clown memorabilia, especially of Emmett Kelly Jr. and any type of cowboy memorabilia. He enjoyed listening to music by Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra. His memberships include the Elks Club, was a 4th Degree Knight in the K of C, the Jr. Chamber of Commerce in Alma, Michigan and a member of the Ministry of Ushers for 45 years at St. Mary Catholic Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Ann Marie (Lombardi) Mills and her husband, Gordon Mark; two sons, Matthew James Lombardi and his wife, Sioban (Nora) and Mark David Lombardi and his wife, Cynthia (Campbell); six grandsons, Tyler Joshua Lombardi, Kyle Patrick Lombardi, Christopher David Lombardi, Joshua Daniel Mills, Jordan James Mills and Jacob Dale Mills; the mother of his children, Barbara (Lombardi) Brewster; one brother, Robert Lombardi and his wife, Barbara; one sister, Judith Maier and her husband, Dan; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lois Kosisko-Lombardi; a brother, Harold Lombardi and a niece, Patty.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 10, 2018, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 2300 W. Jackson Street, Muncie, Indiana 47303 with Father Andrew Dudzinski officiating.
Family and friends may call from 2:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., Saturday, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Memorial Park.
