Norma A. Long, 75, of Muscatine, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at Trinity-Rock Island. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 12, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Following the interment a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Community Room. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 11, from 4:00 p.m. to
Norma Alice Hurlbut was born on June 4, 1942, in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of Gayle P. and Marjorie Louise (Smith) Hurlbut. Norma was a graduate of MHS and then went on to receive her cosmetology license at Rex Beauty Academy in Davenport. On June 18, 1966, Norma was united in marriage to Edward Newton Long in Muscatine. She attended Faith United Church of Christ and was a member of the Ladies of the Moose and the Red Hat Society. Norma was an avid Hawkeye fan and enjoyed going to the casinos, attending yard sales, riding in the yellow convertible, spending time with her nieces and nephews and her little dog, Skipper.
Norma will be deeply missed by her husband, Edward of Muscatine; brothers, Jack (Diana) Hurlbut of Muscatine and Richard (Mary) Hurlbut of Marion; sister, Gail (John) George of Muscatine and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents.
