Maurine Forke, age 94, of Breda, died Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Twilight Acres Nursing Home in Wall Lake, Iowa.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 10, 2018 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Breda. The Celebrant will be Fr. Mark Stoll assisted by Deacon Butch Stone. Concelebrant will be Fr. Gary Snyder. Mass servers will be Allie and Quinton Mohr, and Owen Masching. Music will be by Marilyn Hundling and the St. Bernard's Choir. Lector will be Mark O'Tool. Gift Bearers will be Janice Wohlert and Veda Stougard. Eucharistic Minister will be Julie Wiederin. Casket Bearers will be Dennis Forke, Lynn Forke, Gary Forke, Vern Forke, Dale Forke, John Forke, Dean O'Tool, Mark O'Tool, and David Mohr. Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Breda. The Carroll Catholic Daughters of the America's will form an honor guard for the funeral mass.

Visitation will be held at the Sharp Funeral Home in Breda from 9 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. on Saturday morning.

Born on April 28, 1923 in Carroll County, Iowa, Maurine was the daughter of John and Clara (Schoo) Forke. She grew up west of Breda, and graduated from St. Bernard's High School in 1940. After her formal education Maurine worked different jobs in the area; those jobs included: The Highway Café in Carroll, secretary at St. Anthony Hospital in Carroll, Montgomery Ward in Carroll, and Sioux City, and lastly as a bookkeeper for Pepsi Cola Bottling Company.

After her retirement, she helped take care of her mother. She also kept busy as a part-time house keeper for Fr. Thomas Hart, and Fr. James Smith when they were assigned to St. Bernard's Parish. She enjoyed dancing, taking vacations, her card club, and trips to the casino. Maurine was a member of St. Bernard's Parish, and Altar Society, and the Carroll Catholic Daughters of the Americas.

Maurine is survived by her sister: Patricia Mohr of Manning, and fifteen nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings: Irene Forke in infancy, Arnold (Paula) Forke, Vernice (Lila) Forke, Ivan (Alma) Forke, Bernice (Ivan) O'Tool, and a brother-in-law: Donald Mohr.
