J. C. "JESS" STEWARD
SAN ANGELO - On February 7, 2018 JC "Jess" Steward joined his parents and eight siblings along with his special cousin, Charles Steward in heaven. Memorial service at 11:00 am, Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Water Valley Baptist Church. Arrangements are by Shaffer Funeral Home/Grape Creek.
He is survived by daughters, Belinda(Scott) Weddell, Stephanie Steward and Vickie Steward; grandchildren, Neil Weddell, Jeni(David) Cason, J.C. Steward, Destinee Linker; great granddaughter, Haylee Cason.
Jess was born September 6,1931 in Udiana, near Mt. Vernon, Texas and travelled to West Texas with family following oil field and cotton work. As a teen, he worked for the railroad , then started the many years of truck driving all over the United States. Throughout the years he learned several trades through his many business adventures. For eleven years, he worked as the maintenance and was the helping hands to the many residents of Midland Hillcrest Retirement Home. At the age of eighty he came to live at the ranch in Water Valley, where for six years he shared his life with Scott, Belinda, Destinee, extended family and friends. He enjoyed helping with the livestock and his many special cats.
The family would like to thank the staff at Kindred Hospice for their compassionate care, with special thanks to Nurse Theresa and Lillia, along with care givers, John, LaVonda, Lisa, and Madelyn.
