Alma May Hanley, 98, of Clear Lake, died Thursday, February 8, 2018, at Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 12, 2018, at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. 4th St., Clear Lake, with Pastor Dennis Ganz officiating. Burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home in Clear Lake.

Family suggests memorial contributions to Hospice of North Iowa.

Alma was born on December 10, 1919, the daughter of Arthur Marinus and Mary Elizabeth (Johansen) Pedersen in Kason, MN. She married Jimmie Hanley on October 12, 1940, in Clear Lake. He preceded her in death on May 18, 1984.

Alma graduated from Swaledale High School in 1937. She moved to Clear Lake in 1940 and began working at the Clear Lake Bakery in 1962; retiring in 1982.

Alma was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Clear Lake the Rebekah Lodge. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and traveling. She really loved spending time with her family; especially all her grandchildren.

Alma is survived by two children, Carolyn Nichols of Clear Lake and Duane Hanley of Ventura; seven grandchildren, Beckey Ott, Debra Hunold, Daniel Nichols, Scott Hanley, Brian Hanley, Shane Hanley and Cole Hanley; 13 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Pedersen of Lake Mills.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, Clarence, Johnnie and Ervin Pedersen; and a sister in infancy.
