Thomas C. Afflerbach
July 27, 1944 - February 7, 2018

Thomas C. Afflerbach, age 73 of Ambler, died Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Sellersville, PA, he was the son of the late Edwin and Ida (nee Campbell) Afflerbach.

Thomas was a Naval Architect, employed by Philadelphia Naval Shipyard for 30 years. He then did bookkeeping for St. Anthony of Padua Church for 10 years until his retirement in 2007.

Mr. Afflerbach was a member of St. Anthony's Church and the International Federation of Professional & Tech Engineer's Union- Local 3 Philadelphia where he served as Vice President. He loved watching the Atlanta Braves play baseball and was an avid fan of hockey and jigsaw puzzles. He enjoyed collecting old movies, Elvis Music, and John Wayne Memorabilia.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years Ellen (nee Mc Donald) Afflerbach. He is the loving father of Elizabeth Carpenter and her husband Darren of Plymouth Meeting, Peter Afflerbach and his wife Janine of Harleysville, Eileen Afferbach of Ambler and Thomas E. Afflerbach of Ambler. He is the proud grandfather of Conlan Carpenter, Nora Carpenter, Amelia Carpenter, Sean Afflerbach, Emma Afflerbach, Nathan Afflerbach and Andrew Afflerbach. He was predeceased by his grandson Adam Afflerbach in 2003.


Relatives and friends are invited to call Friday, February 16, 2018 from 9:30 to 10:45 AM at St. Anthony's of Padua Church, 259 Forest Ave. Ambler. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM by Rev. Msgr. Stephen P. McHenry. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham.

Remembrances in his name to St. Anthony's of Padua Church, 259 Forest Ave. Ambler, PA 19002 or to Jefferson Health Hospice, 1200 Old York Road, Abington, PA 19001 would be appreciated by the family.
