In loving memory of

Lucille Keys Davis
November 26, 1924 - February 6, 2018

Lucille Keys Davis, 93, of Laurel, surrounded by her grandchildren, went to be with her Lord Tuesday afternoon, February 7, 2018 at Bedford Care in Hattiesburg. She had been battling dementia for sometime.

Lucille was one of eight children, born November 26, 1924 to Louis Tilson Keys and Getty Sellers Keys, in Mize, Simpson County, Mississippi at their home. Lucille married Troy A. Davis on the 8th of January, 1944, in Abilene, Texas. They spent 65 wonderful years building their lives together. They were blessed with one son, Larry Thomas Davis, two grandchildren (mother Gloria Jean Logan Carlos), Derek Michael Davis, and Kimberly Ann Hagan (Jared), and two great-grandchildren, Brodie Haverlock-Hagan and Gavin Logan Hagan.

Lucille was a member of West Laurel Baptist Church where she spent many dedicated years serving the Lord and teaching Sunday school classes. She also owned Head Hunters Coiffures in Laurel, where she retired from. While she spent a lot of her time at the church, with her friends, and caring for those in the community, Lucille absolutely adored her grandchildren, Derek and Kimberly, who she and her husband Troy helped raised like they were her own.

Lucille was preceded in death by her husband Troy A. Davis, her parents Lewis Tillson Keys and Gettie Sellers Keys, her siblings Daniel Leon Keys, Maddy May Keys, Velma Lee Keys Harvey (Charles Earnest), Cora Keys Thigpen (Paul), Jack Dimpsey Keys (Kay), and her sister-in-law Rachel Amanda Davis Reeves (Charles "Charlie").

Lucille is survived by her son, Larry Thomas Davis, her two grandchildren (mother Gloria Jean Logan Carlos), Derek Michael Davis, and Kimberly Ann Hagan (Jared), her two great grandchildren, Brodie Haverlock-Hagan and Gavin Logan Hagan, her sister Dorothy "Dot" Shows (Wiley "Dub"), her brother Erastus "Ras" Keys (Pauline "Polly"), and a host of special nieces and nephews.

Services for Lucille Keys Davis will be held at Memory Chapel on Monday, February 12, 2018. Visitation will be at 10 AM with the memorial service to follow at 11 AM. Services will be officiated by Brother Brandon Powell, with Lucille's nephew Mike Thigpen (Dianne) sharing memories. Andrew Ishee will be playing piano with wife Sheree Ishee singing. Interment will follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery.
