In loving memory of

Anthony J Yurchuk
January 26, 1950 - February 8, 2018

Anthony James Yurchuk, longtime resident of Highland, NY passed away suddenly on Thursday February 8th at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. He was 68 years old.
Tony was born on January 26, 1950 in Bronx NY. He was the son of the late Michael and Dorothy Yurchuk. He played 4 years varsity football, basketball and baseball and graduated from Wallkill High School in 1968. Tony worked for 40 years at IBM East Fishkill as a Systems Analyst retiring in 2007. On October 3, 1976, he married the former Christine Canino of Highland NY at The Hedges in West Park. They were happily married for 41 years. They loved traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Tony was the person who "Random acts of kindness" spurred from. He always went out of his way to be kind, make someone smile or help anyone in anyway he could. He was the ultimate "Nice Guy".
Tony adored his grandchildren and was always there to teach them, support them and tease them as he was famous for. He loved the NY Yankees from watching them as a kid on the E-train tracks to taking his family to games years later. He would give them the good seats and he would sit in the nosebleeds. Tony was famous for his appetite, his antipasto and his love of good food.
His favorite holiday (and movie) was Groundhog Day and he and Chris even travelled to Punxsutawney to see Phil.
There was nowhere Tony went that he could not find someone to talk to. He loved his monthly lunches with his Wallkill classmates. In his retired years he worked at Quality Dry Cleaners in Highland and enjoyed interacting with people there.
Tony is survived by his wife Christine, daughters Michele (Ed), Jennifer (Kyle) and Melissa (Roy), sister Kathy, brothers in law Michael (Nancy), Christopher (Patricia) and James (Colleen) Canino and grandchildren Jaylee, Piper, Laynee, Nylee, Michael, Allison, Elizabeth and Ainsley along with many nieces, nephews cousins and extended family and friends.
