Al "Bud" Stampka
April 9, 1927 - February 11, 2018

Al "Bud' Stampka, 90, of Winona, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Winona Health. He was born on April 9, 1927 to Agnes Stampka.

In 1945 Bud joined the Navy and worked as a Seabee. In 1946 he was honorably discharged. He worked at Badger Contruction for over 30 years before retiring. Bud served as the president of the union for many years. He was a member of the VFW and was an assistant chaplain with them. He truly enjoyed visiting with other veterans.

Bud was a true handy man that could fix anything. He enjoyed working on cars and carpentry. He also really enjoyed singing in the family band.

Bud is survived by his wife of 67 years, Jean; children, Gary (Janet), Dale (Helen), Steve (Tammy), and Ken (Mary); grandchildren, Laura, John, Brent, Holly, April, Tanya, Stephanie, Travis; great-grandchildren, Madison, Dakota, Dustin, Danica, Delana, Hunter, Nathan, Hannah, Jarin, Nikolas, Brayden, Audrienna, and one on the way. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Delphine, Robert, and Joan.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Hoff Celebration of Life Center, led by Reverend Wade Davick. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Friday, February 16, 2018 at Hoff Celebration of Life Center and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will be at a later date in Buffalo City Cemetery. "RIP Uncle Bud- you will be missed. It was 1974 when we went to Bud and Judy's house for Thanksgiving. Among other great memories we had a blast at the local pub where Bud's sons were playing in a band. He was so proud.
