Barbara Sklar, age 87, of Toms River passed away on Monday, February 12, 2018 at Community Medical Center, Toms River. A long time resident of Toms River, she was born in Brooklyn and lived there until moving to Ocean County in 1955.
Mrs. Sklar had a career in real estate for over thirty years, working as a realtor, broker and real estate appraiser for several area firms. She retired from Citta Rhine Realtors, Toms River, in 2000. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, devoted to her family above all.
Predeceased by her husband Charles in 2012 and her sister Beverly Cohen McLean, she is survived by her children, Ileen DePasquale of Toms River, Randy Sklar and his wife Katherine of Wellington, FL, and Julie Knowles of Pine Beach; her grandchildren, Gina Meltzer, Adam DePasquale, Shaina Sklar, Alana Sklar, Jared Knowles and Andre Knowles; two great-grandaughters, Alyson and Loryn; and her twin sister, Audry Suffin of Boynton Beach, FL.
Cremation was private under the direction of Horizon Funeral and Cremation Services, 1329 Route 37 West, Toms River. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
