Glen A. Wischmeier
August 18, 1931 - February 9, 2018

Glen A. Wischmeier, 86, of Burlington, died at 8:29 p.m., Friday, February 9, 2018 at his home.
Born August 18, 1931 in Burlington, he was the son of Arthur C. and Effie (Taeger) Wischmeier. He married Marilyn Ryan August 2, 1964 in Dallas City, IL.
He worked for Family Century Farm for his entire life and retired from being a REC meter Reader. He was a graduate of the Sperry High School class of 1949 and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Glen attended Assembly of God Church. He enjoyed discussing politics and gardening. He was known as a hard worker and loved spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife Marilyn; two sons, Bradley (Lisa) Wischmeier of Burlington and Greg (Marilyn) Wischmeier of Atlanta, GA; three daughters, Lynette Wischmeier of Iowa City, Michelle (Kris) Floyd of Burlington and Sheila (David) Delzell of Burlington; twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters; Ruth, Pearl, and Lois.
The funeral service for Mr. Wischmeier will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 17th at Lunning Chapel. Officiants will be Pastor Wayne Ryan and Pastor Larry Ryan. Military rites will be conducted by the Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum. Family will receive friends 5-7 p.m., Friday, February 16th at Lunning Chapel. Friends may call after 1 p.m.
A memorial has been established and will be determined later.
