Linda C. Dorsey (nee Bentley), age 69, of Amherst passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 10, 2018.
She was born on February 20, 1948 in Hemphill, Kentucky to James and May Ruth (nee Potter) Bentley. She was a 1967 graduate of Elyria High School. As a teen Linda worked for the Turnpike Plaza. She later went on work as a bartender at the All Nations Club, in Lorain for several years and then went on to run the Croation Club in Lorain for 3 years. She retired from the Firelands School System in 2014, where she worked in the kitchen.
Linda was a member of the Lorain Christian Temple Disciples of Christ. She was a people person who enjoyed socializing, dancing, traveling and visiting casinos. Her greatest passion was her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Dorley "Butch" Dorsey; daughters, Christina (John) Mohn, and Alice (Bob) Lewis; grandchildren, Nichole Murr, Gary Skinner, and James Skinner; great-grandchildren; Natalie Meyer, and Gabriella Skinner; mother, May Ruth Bentley; 4 step children; 11 step grandchildren; 9 step great-grandchildren; brothers, Jimmie (Anna) Bentley, John (Sara) Bentley, and Mike Bentley; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Bentley.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 16, 2018 from 4:00 - 7:30 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. A closing prayer service will immediately follow the visitation at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral center. The Rev. Dr. Bradley J. Donahue, of Lorain Christian Temple Disciples of Christ Church, will officiate. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 17th. at 10:00 a.m. at Lorain Christian Temple Disciples of Christ Church, 940 W. 5th. Street, Lorain, Ohio. Private family interment will take place at a later date.
