John "Jake" Martinez Negrete, of Lewis Kansas, entered into eternal life on Monday, February 12, 2018 at Northern Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, Colorado. A beloved son of Dorteo Negrete and Juanita Martines, was born in Lewis Kansas on June 24, 1933. Jake was a graduate of Springfield Colorado High School in 1954, but was a lifelong resident of Lewis and was well known and loved by many. Jake was married to Donita Darlene Davis on August 14, 1954. To whom he was committed to until her passing on April 16, 2003. He was predeceased by his daughter Alice Marie and sisters- Grace, Lydia, Sylvia, and brothers- David and Ignacio. ...

A beloved son of Dorteo Negrete and Juanita Martines, was born in Lewis Kansas on June 24, 1933. Jake was a graduate of Springfield Colorado High School in 1954, but was a lifelong resident of Lewis and was well known and loved by many.

Jake was married to Donita Darlene Davis on August 14, 1954. To whom he was committed to until her passing on April 16, 2003. He was predeceased by his daughter Alice Marie and sisters- Grace, Lydia, Sylvia, and brothers- David and Ignacio.

Jake is survived by his sister-Tootie Robbins of Kinsley, Ks; his sons John Wilbur (Renee) of Kaufman, Texas, Troy Allen (Kimberly) of Johnstown, Colorado, and Michael Lance of Lewis, Kansas; Son-in-law-Ben Railsback of Newton, Ks; Grandchildren- Chris Negrete, Tessa Fry, Chenell Negrete (Karie), Brooke Keyes (Alex), Jacob Fry (Raelynn), Kaleena Porter (Justin), Jessica Fry, Devin Negrete, and Jordan Negrete (Jasmyn); Great- grandchildren- Jayvan Fry, Ireland Skurat, Kastyn Porter and Jasper Porter.

Service to celebrate Jake's life will be held February 24, 2018 at 12:00pm at the Lewis School Gymnasium at 401 Sunnyside School Road in Lewis, Ks. Lunch to follow at the Lewis Community Hall downtown Lewis.
Interment will be after the meal at Wayne Cemetery for those who would like to attend at approximately 4 pm.
