Weslaco, TX - Pablo Martinez, Sr., 96, passed away to be with the Lord, Friday, February 9, 2018 in Austin, TX.  Mr. Martinez was born August 20, 1921 to Atanacio & Eusebia Martinez in Durango Mexico.  Mr. Martinez worked for Gulf Distributing for over 33 years & was known by everyone as "El Cuñado".  He is preceded in death by his parents.  Mr. Martinez is survived by his wife, Josefa G. Martinez of Weslaco, TX; 4 sons, Pablo Martinez, Jr., Freddy Martinez (Lizette), both of Weslaco, TX, Rene Martinez of Austin, TX, Elias Martinez (Frances) of Fort Wayne, Indiana; 5 daughters, Ninfa Martinez of Austin, TX, Hilda Martinez Gonzalez (Joe P.), Chris Martinez, both of Weslaco, TX, Lydia M. Martinez (Juan) of La Feria, TX & Esmeralda Zapata (Domingo) of Iowa.  Also surviving are 25 grandchildren & numerous great-grandchildren.   Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 13, 2018 with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service & 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 14, 2018 with a 7:00 p.m. rosary at Guerra Funeral Home of Weslaco - Chapel of The Angels. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 15, 2018 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.  Pallbearers will be Israel Garza, Don Garza, Raymond Rodriguez, Joshua Dorantes, Elias Martinez, Jr., Trishton Martinez & Sergio Leos, Jr.   Arrangements are under the direction of Guerra Funeral Home of Weslaco, Inc., 2602 N.
