Mrs. Naomi W. Baugus, 91, passed away Monday morning, February 12, 2018. She was born July 7, 1926 to James H. and Lila (Johnson) McGrew in Senath, MO, and moved to the Muskegon area in 1952. Mrs. Baugus worked for the Fruitport Schools for 14 years, before retiring in 1986. She was a member of Evanston Avenue Baptist Church, enjoyed visiting shut-ins and gardening. On November 4, 1944 she married Billy W. Baugus, and he preceded her in death in November of 2000. Survivors include 2 children: Larry D. (Kathy) Baugus, Karen A. Dorsey; 5 grandchildren: Tamora (Harry, Jr.) Knapp, Tiffany (Jimmy) Schultz, Joshua Dorsey, Diane Ninness, Matthew Ninness; 4 great-grandchildren: Travis, Dakota, Zachary and Preston; 5 great-great-grandchildren; 1 sister: Mildred Pruett; 1 sister-in-law: Betty Cude. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters and 3 brothers. The funeral service will be Thursday, February 15, at 1:00 PM at Evanston Avenue Baptist Church, with Pastor Matt Sharpe officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service.
