James "Jim" Landolt
August 11, 1939 - February 9, 2018

James M. (Jim) Landolt passed away on February 9th, in Hospice at The Peaks Care Center in Longmont after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born to Fred and Mary Landolt in Longmont, CO on August 11, 1939. Jim graduated from Mead High School in 1957. He met the love of his life, Carol Jean Parker, in 1959 and they were married in 1961. Jim started his working career at Red Dale Coach and years later was a part owner. He then went on to work for Ball Aerospace and retired from Ball 24 years later. Jim and Carol raised four daughters. He was a lifelong member of St. John's church. Jim put God and his family first always. He enjoyed his beautiful dahlia garden. He was an avid reader and liked to read westerns. Jim made beautiful Christmas wreaths every year with fresh greens, pinecones, spruce he had hand cut. Jim and Carol enjoyed several trips with some of their life long friends including vacations to Hawaii, Mexico, and a Panama Cruise. They also had a yearly "Reunio" with their entire family at various places in Colorado. Jim with the help of his parents and siblings built his beloved Red Feather Lakes cabin which holds years of fishing adventures, 4th of July fireworks, family games, and wonderful memories. Jim loved to fish and was fortunate enough to get a last fishing trip to Alaska in with two of his son-in-laws and two grandsons in 2016, which was the trip of a lifetime. Jim really enjoyed trips with some of his siblings over the years. He enjoyed puzzles, games, and cards with friends and family. After retiring Jim attended daily mass and looked forward to his weekly Christian Men's Group.
We were so fortunate to have him in our lives and he will truly be missed. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Jean. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Carol, his daughters JoLynn (Mike) DiGiallonardo of Longmont, Lori (Alan) Holt of Longmont, Jill (Jason) Peterson of Alaska, Chris (Derek) Hill of Longmont, his grandchildren all of Longmont, Allyssa (Wade) Kingsbury, Zach (Jen), Josh, and Jacob DiGiallonardo, Madison, Savannah, and Jackson Rose, Lucas and Lexi Hill and by his great grandson Mason James Kingsbury. Jim is also survived by his siblings, Jack (Pat), Jeannette, JoAnn (Fran), Nancy (Lewis), Tom (Patti), Dave (Joanne), and Margie. Contributions in Jim's memory can be made to Longmont Meals on Wheels. The Rosary will be held at Howe Mortuary on Monday, February 19th at 6:00 pm. The memorial mass will be held at St. John's Church on Tuesday, February 20th at 10:00 am.
