Veronica Hinds
May 6, 1925 - February 10, 2018

Veronica "Ronnie" M. (Grannon) Hinds was born May 7, 1925. She was the daughter of Michael and Marie (Hollister) Lennon and was raised on a farm near Clare, Iowa. Upon graduation from St. Matthew's Catholic School in Clare, she attended Tobin Business College. She worked as a bookkeeper at various downtown businesses and learned to bowl during her lunch hour.
Ronnie was an accomplished bowler; she was a member of the Iowa WBA Hall of Fame as well as the Fort Dodge WBA Hall of Fame. She was a state and national champion several times and taught many young athletes how to bowl through her work with the Junior Bowling Association. Ronnie also loved to golf and play softball as well as any card game.
Ronnie married Harold Grannon on April 17, 1948 and together they had six children. Harold died in 1964. Ronnie married Neil Hinds in 1969. The couple later divorced.
Ronnie died peacefully February 11, 2018 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home surrounded by family. She was 92 years old.
Ronnie is survived by her six children; Janette Bisbee, Boise, Idaho; Harold (Pita) Grannon; Theresa (James) Jorgensen; David Grannon; Michelle Klass and Brian (Carol) Grannon; all of Fort Dodge. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Also surviving are siblings Catherine Schadegg of Pleasant Hill, CA and Patricia Mikelson, Fort Dodge.
Ronnie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry and brothers, Jack Lennon, Richard Lennon, William Lennon, James Lennon, Michael Lennon and sisters, Elizabeth Cummins and Mary Margaret Lennon.
In gratitude for the compassionate care provided by the nurses and staff, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be given to the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home.
A Mass of Christian burial will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 16, 2018 at Corpus Christi Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating. Burial will follow at Corpus Christi Cemetery. A visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home.
