Lee James Barley
July 27, 1932 - February 10, 2018

Lee was born in Denver, Colorado, to Lee Elias Barley and Edna Mary Baldauf Barley Rice.

He served in the Army during the Korean War from 1953-1956. He married Jo Ann Robinson on August 30, 1958 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Lee graduated from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Arts Education. He was a math and shop teacher in New Mexico and Colorado for 22 years. Lee also worked as a Deputy Sheriff, in security for Poudre Valley Hospital, and worked with computers following his retirement from teaching. Lee had a great love for the outdoors, enjoyed serving as a volunteer fire fighter in New Mexico and Colorado. He liked to go hiking, camping, and square dancing with Jo. Lee was a long-time member of First Presbyterian Church, serving in many different ways, he especially enjoyed singing in the choir.

Lee is survived by his wife: Jo Ann Barley. Children: Lee James Barley II (Shelly), Robin Carol Barley-Stock (Mark), Stephen Keith Barley, and Jennifer Jo Barley-Dunning (Jason). Grandchildren: James Robert Cunningham, Jessica Robin Preble (Michael), Amanda Marie Barley Hopkins (Jesse), Josephine Carol Hofstetter (Jason), Lee James Barley III (Rosalie), Aurora Elizabeth Dunning, and Holden Elias Dunning. Great Grandchildren: Rebecca Carol Cunningham, Alexandra Lee Yoke, Noel Marie Hopkins, Olivia Ann Preble, and Weston Gideon Hopkins.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents and parents.

A Memorial Service will be held at First Presbyterian Church on Saturday, February 24 at 10:00 AM, reception to follow.
